Isn't it kind of funny that despite all the PM and delivery methods available, all projects that I've been assigned to often start at ground zero. Although I try to incorporate different concepts and tactics based on my previous experience, I am continually astounded at how company sponsorship does not seem to leverage previous experiences.
I can say that I've had one experience where this has been the case; I was a PM in a delivery organization where we "built" our process from release to release. By the time, I left, there was a high degree of repeatability. Other than this one experience, my other experiences seem to be fires or just projects that need their own methodology.
I'd be interested in hearing of others experiences with project repeatability. I'm especially interested in hearing about your organization's process of maturing their project management and delivery processes.
